OverviewTurbo C Compiler

Microchip’s line of award-winning MPLAB® XC C Compilers provides a comprehensive solution for your project’s software. MPLAB ® C18 to XC8 C Compiler.

How do I upgrade XC8 compiler from free version to Pro with Omniscient Code Generation? I have installed XC8 under MPLAB-X and I have rapidly filled up the device. When I installed it, it said that I could upgrade to Pro mode for 60 days. Memory Summary: Program space used 36D4h ( 14036) of 4000h words ( 85.7%) Data space used 172h ( 370) of 400h bytes ( 36.1%) EEPROM space used 5Ch ( 92) of 100h bytes ( 35.9%) Data stack space used 0h ( 0) of 19Ch bytes ( 0.0%) Configuration bits used 2h ( 2) of 2h words (100.0%) ID Location space used 0h ( 0) of 4h bytes ( 0. Mailing List Controller Crackberry. 0%) Running this compiler in PRO mode, with Omniscient Code Generation enabled, produces code which is typically 40% smaller than in Free mode. The MPLAB XC8 PRO compiler output for this code could be 4800 words smaller. See for more information. I have looked at Forums and noted the 'Options for XC8' and it is set to Pro.

I get the output above on 'Clean and Build'. I get an identical output under 'Free' mode with 'Clean and Build', so the Pro switch is having no effect. I installed this before the Masters 2014 and I was pretty sure I did the 'Free' install, but it occurs to me that the Pro mode has expired. Would this be a fair summary? What about having Microchip promoting the FREE optimization mode to the STANDARD level for the free use in honor of MPLAB C18 and his development team? There will be more reasons to stay with the Microchip ecosystem apart of the price wink: (BTW, where is that emoticon with tongue? X Fusion 02 Rc Manual Gas. :P ).
