This title is available in a variety of formats - digital and print. Pearson offers its titles on the devices students love through Pearson's MyLab products, CourseSmart, Amazon, and more. I have taught (and taken) courses in Child Development and Lifespan Development with numerous textbooks, and this was definitely my favorite. The text is exceptionally thorough and includes a balance of theory and application.

Relevant research is discussed throughout, in a way that is interesting and engaging and emphasizes the importance of scientific rigor in studying development. Most of all I appreciate the personal, direct voice of the text, as if I am listening to the author talk. Some other texts actually make reading about lifespan development boring (hard to do but can be done!) This one very effectively illuminates how fascinating it can be. My only criticism might be that I found it very difficult to cover the entire text in a one semester class, precisely because it is so rich in information. I would probably give this 5 stars if it would have arrived.

I have never had a problem with anything I have ordered off of amazon.Everything usually arrives before expected. They claimed this book was shipped a day after I ordered it, but weeks went by, and it wasn't here. Luckily I found a friend who had the book and let me borrow it because I needed it for my class.

I contacted the seller and they claimed it was lost in the mail. I have had that happen before so it is not unbelievable. They refunded my money promptly so I would still give them another try in the future. For the price, I think that this textbook lacked a lot of depth. It only hardly touches upon the main aspects of different theories regarding lifespan development. It will lay out the basics of the theories, but will not provide any in depth analyses of them.

Also, if you are taking a class that requires you to know the basics of developmental theory like mine did, you would probably be better off just using google to find the theories you are looking for. Black Angus Rotisserie Manual Dexterity. All of this information is easily accessible online and this text does not offer anything special. It does not assist you in your learning, it only states what you should know.

I ended up selling mine during the middle of my lifespan development course because my professor's notes were enough to guide me through the class with a little bit of help from the internet to assist my learning. Although it's about average in terms of your typical boring textbook, what my biggest gripe with it are the Chapter tests at the end of each chapter; many of the test questions are wrong. For an easy example pg. 319 Question # 12 asks, ' Which of the following terms wold be applied to someone who is high in both masculinity and femininity?'

The answer at the back of the book, 'animistic'. Not only is it not even mentioned in this chapter, it is wrong; animistic is the belief that non-humans, such as animals, have a spirit.

This is not the only mistake, I've found several in each Chapter test and I'm surprised that after 6 editions, mistakes are still there. Same questions are in the 7th edition. This may be no big deal if Chapter tests are something that you usually skip, but as a student, I wonder if it's the same people responsible for writing my college exams??? I had ordered this book for my class, the description said it was used but still in good condition. This book arrived and the entire thing looks as if it was soaked in water than put out to dry. It has a smell to it and the pages are filled with a dark colored spotted mold.
