Cummins-RAM History: A Legacy of Power and Reliability Cummins engines have been an option in RAM pickups since 1989. For more than 25 years, we’ve worked with RAM to provide drivers the toughest, most reliable trucks on the road. Chrysler initially launched the RAM in 1981. Facing stiff competition from Ford and General Motors, RAM needed something unique to carve out its niche. Cummins and Chrysler officials recognized the mutual benefit of incorporating the new Cummins B-series engine into the RAM.

Cummins was a known leader in commercial vehicles, and the B-series represented the company’s first move into the medium-duty pickup arena. Dodge masterfully engineered the RAM to accommodate the size and power of the Cummins turbo diesel engine, and the first Cummins-powered RAM hit the streets in 1989.

With 400 pounds-feet of torque, it roared past the competition. This was the start of a powerful relationship. The Cummins-RAM partnership grew through the years. Major Milestones - 1989: introduced first Cummins-powered RAM - 1996: exceeded 200-horsepower - 2001: surpassed 500-pound-feet torque - 2007: launched 6.7-liter, 350-horsepower engine - 2013: reached 385-horsepower, 850 pounds-feet torque From our 5.9-liter, 160-horsepower beginnings to the 6.7-liter, 385-horsepower engines available in today’s RAM pickups, Cummins and RAM lead the way in innovation, power and durability. Real Easy Book Bass Clef Pdf To Jpg. Im rebuilding mine right now. I have ARP 2000's going back in,.20 over cummins pistons. Lemmie know in you need help & i have the full service manual on my computer in a pdf file if you want it let me know. Ill email it to you if I can.Dude, that would be awesome if I could get that manual from you! Is it the Cummins 4021271 manual? Email is ilmblg(at)gmail.c0m. Why are you replacing all your pistons?

Is that 100% needed even if they are showing no wear? I want to do this right the firt time, but I am also not concerned about COMPLETELY rebuilding every last thing. More of a freshen up, with all new bearings, hoping for 1 sleeve, and new rings. Digital Serial Analyzer. I am going to have to bore all the cylinder out just a touch, because of ring ridge on #1 and scoring on #6 with the broken rings. I was hoping that I could just use slightly larger rings, and keep my pistons, but I am probably dreaming.

I probably need to replace the pistons if I am boring at all, right? Yeah ill get that email to you soon. Anyways, im 16 and its my first truck. I bought the truck for 13k after working along time on our farm finally got the money. Well I got the truck and within 2k miles motor went to. We pulled the head and #1 had wearing on the cylinder.

So we pulled the motor out and my dad wanted to go a complete over haul. I didnt argue! But so far iv bought arp's, 100 horse injectors, got my head renamed, port and polish on the head, blance the rotating assembly, and check to see if anything was warped. Bassiacly my dad's logic is to do something once and do it right, so that why we replaced everything.

Iv done all the work myself, no one has really done much except the machine shop. But im taking this truck to college and I dont need a truck that will *maybe* start. Im only a sophomore in high school haha!

Well, more power to you bud, and thanks for the tips. Sorry to hear you had the trouble so soon.

Cracked rings, or excessive wear because of poor airflow designs in the intake plenum are one of the leading causes for early death in these trucks. I am AT LEAST doing a Wilson Thrasher on mine, and perhaps a spool aid, although I don't like that extra stuff in the engine bay. Like you, I am building this engine ONCE hopefully, and I want to see it last. I am doing arp's and all that jazz as well. Trying to decide on a cam right now. Please shoot that manual over as soon as is convenient.
